19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
It is the player's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
His defensive approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.
But the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
Moutet rescued four early-game chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
